Effective for the entering freshman class of 2005, the Florida State University requires students to have a computer. Students entering in the summer and fall will not be REQUIRED to have a laptop.
Proficiencies with computing technologies enhance educational and career goals. In addition, more and more of the various curricula and their supporting materials are now delivered via technological means. Too, that faculty, staff, and students will have a known, and shared, baseline computing technology enables us to engage in new modes of teaching, learning, and research.
